Finally… it’s finished. An artwork which has been swimming around in my mind ever since I found a couple of old rusty door knob sets at the markets a couple of years ago. Sometimes it takes time to work out why an object catches your eye and then one day you see it… the why, the reason, the creation it has inspired. I love zooming in on the detail of insignificant, overlooked items. It’s fascinating - all those marks and scratches and dints that over many years gives it character and a story. This battered old door knob reminded me of a planet when I looked at it up close so a planet it became… xo
